How we collect, use, and protect your personal data — and the choices you have under GDPR and CCPA.
1. Who we are
AlibabaTrack operates AlibabaTrack, a reference site with shipment-tracking, freight-planning tools, customs guides, and a curated provider directory for buyers importing from China. You can reach us at xieyingsong94@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Quote-request information. When you use the Get a Shipping Quote form, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number, company (optional), origin and destination, cargo weight and dimensions, commodity type, and preferred terms. This is data you choose to share with us.
- Correspondence. Emails, WhatsApp messages, and other communications you send us.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, tools used, and approximate location derived from your IP address, collected through analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Technical data. Browser and device type, collected automatically to keep the site working.
3. Why we collect it and our legal basis
- To respond to your quote request — necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To operate and improve the site — our legitimate interest in running a useful, secure service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To show analytics — based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
4. How we use your information
We use the information to reply to quote requests, provide the tools and content you ask for, keep the site secure, and understand which guides and tools help buyers most. We do not use your quote details for advertising.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the limited service providers who help run the site — web hosting, email delivery, and analytics — each acting on our instructions. The Get a Shipping Quote form may connect you with a vetted provider from our Partners directory; any details you share with that provider directly are governed by their own privacy policy, not this one.
6. International transfers
Our site and service providers may process data outside your home country, including in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep quote-request information for [CONFIRM: e.g. 24 months] after your enquiry, then delete or anonymise it, unless we need to keep it longer to comply with law or resolve a dispute. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. In the EEA and UK these rights sit under the GDPR; in California they sit under the CCPA/CPRA.
- EEA / UK: contact us at xieyingsong94@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California: you may request to know what we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. [CONFIRM: add a notice mechanism for significant changes.]
