Why it matters

The code decides the bill

A Harmonized System (HS) code is a six-digit label used worldwide to classify goods. The digits you land on change the duty rate — often by a lot.

iSix digits, then more

The global HS is six digits. The US adds four more (HTS) for the exact rate. We show the six-digit base plus the indicative rate it maps to.

iRate swings are huge

On this list, duty runs from 0% (phones, laptops, toys) to 28% (porcelain). Getting the code right is the difference between a thin and a painful margin.

iSection 321 helps small parcels

Shipments under $800 to the US are often duty-free via de-minimis. Larger or formal entries pay the MFN rate shown here.

iConfirm before you ship

Rates shift with trade policy and program eligibility. Use these as a planning starting point, then check the live HTS for your specific product.
