Import Duty Explained

Most countries charge import duty and VAT on goods above a de minimis value. The rate depends on the product's HS code, not its price alone.

With DDP service the forwarder prepays duties, so the price you are quoted is the full landed cost. Otherwise you pay customs directly on arrival, often with a brokerage fee.
